Underwater Critters

One of the draws of Palau is the vaired animal life. Here are some of the critters that make diving there so much fun!

Giant Clams abound in many colors. Bruce particularly likes the blue ones for the contrast (both color and luminance) they have with their background.

Anemone fish are great close-up subjects.

You need to watch your depth of field when photographing anemone fish from the side!

Anemone fish frequently provide better photos when they are shot looking across the anemone, rather than down into it!

Peleliu, Palau
Orange Beach
An ambush predator, the Crocodile Fish, awaits a meal on the calm reef.

A chrinoid (similar to starfish) waives its gills to gather a meal on black coral.
