We've been able to travel many interesting places and take some great photos. This section of our web site is here to allow you to share the memories. Here is a "arm-chair" tour of
Palau as we found it in April of 1998.
Another Boeing 737 jet took us on the 2 hour journey from Guam to Palau. We left at dusk on Sunday and arrived in the mid-evening.
The local pronunciation translates to English with P and B almost interchangeably, so there is some confusion as to place names: Palau or Belau; Beliliou or Pelilieu.
Most of the diving in Palau is between the states of Koror and
Pelilieu (Palau Map). The best set of dives are in an area generally know as Blue Corner. It is the westernmost
portion of the fringing reef around the main Palau Islands. These islands are known as the Ngemelis Islands (Palau Map). There is enough real estate and critters on this reef to keep an avid diver busy for
weeks! We spent parts of three days there. There are lots of books and web sites which show the beauty of Palau. Our goal here is to show some different sides of this wonderful place!
To dive in the state of Koror in the Republic of Palau, one needs a dive permit. The Palauians, not content to issue a simple card, provide a photographic reminder of your trip.
