Disclaimers

Thursday morning, we headed off to dive on the only true warrior we would see this week: the Fumizuki . She was slender (30 feet) and long (over 300 feet), displacing 1,500 tons. Her final resting place, near Udot Island, is deep, with the bridge at 90 feet and the deck running as deep as 125. There is a slight list to port, explaining the variations in depth.

When U.S. reconnaissance aircraft were spotted in early February, most of the military ships left Truk Lagoon, as a precautionary measure. Survivors indicate that the Fumizuki was being repaired and couldn't leave.

A valve wheel shows little growth of marine organisms.

A school of fish swim beside the Fumizuki.

A sharp nosed hawk fish views the world outside his lair. The surrounding (sea weed looking) stuff is black coral - despite the red color.
